Pupils juggle school and activity levels
School children from St Wilfrids, Stocksbridge Infant and Junior, Southey Green and Shooters Grove - among many others - will see performers spinning plates, balancing and juggling, as they travel to school as part of the initiative, which aims to reduce congestion and traffic levels outside the school gates and improve pupils’ health and fitness.
The schools won a visit from the circus performers after entering a photo competition to show how they are promoting active travel. Winning photo entries included pictures of pupils taking part in bike maintenance workshops, scooting in superhero fancy dress and walking to school as pirates.
