Learning a musical instrument isn’t always child’s play.

But for the young pupils from Broomhill, Greystones and Phillimore primary schools, it was exactly that.

Around 150 six and seven-year-olds from the three schools performed alongside professional musicians from Ensemble 360 to mark a year’s work with Music in the Round’s Music in the Community Programme.

And the sweet music they made filled every corner of Sheffield City Hall.

And there was more good news - the programme is set to play on. It has been awarded £1,000 from the John Lewis Music Matters fund to continue teaching music to youngsters.
