Young linguists from Sheffield were given a special treat when an Owls star turned up to teach them a lesson in languages.
Frenchman Jeremy Helan, on loan at Wednesday from Manchester City, attended Ecclesfield Secondary School and helped bring the curriculum to life.
Pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 quizzed the defender on the lifestyle and cultural differences in England and his home country, with some students even asking questions in French to show off their language skills.
Jeremy said: “I was very impressed with how fluently the kids spoke French and I hope that by sharing how useful my language skills have been for me, it will spur them on to learn even more.”
Curriculum Leader of Languages Caroline Fancett said: “He was a fantastic guest who was able to combine his passion for football with his love for languages, leaving our linguists feeling inspired.
“Jeremy also explained that he is currently learning Arabic, making him a star, both on and off the pitch, in the eyes of our pupils.”
