Pupils’ hall story

Have your say

SHEFFIELD pupils are to bring the story of Wortley Hall and its connection to the British Labour movement to life at a special event tomorrow.

Wortley Hall Remembered will see children from Stocksbridge High School and Thurgoland Primary School act out key events in the hall’s history.

They will be supported by actors from Steel Valley Beacon Arts, while the show’s script and direction has been coordinated by staff and students from Sheffield Hallam University.

During the show the audience will be taken on a tour meeting children and actors playing servants and masters of house, and finding out about the experiences of working people as well as the hall’s links to the union movement.
