Pupils at Acres Hill primary school in Darnall, Sheffield, made a clay poppy sculpture inspired by the iconic Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red art installation at the Tower of London . Katrina Scott, deputy headteacher said: “Our aim was to help children learn about the past and why people wear poppies, as part of our learning about life in Britain.”

Teachers and pupils gathered by the installation for a service on Armistice Day.
