Pupils break song record

SCHOOL pupils in Sheffield look set to have helped break the world record for the most people using sign language and singing a song simultaneously.

Youngsters across the city took part in the sign2sing event, organised by charity SignHealth, on Wednesday afternoon to raise awareness of deaf issues.

Steve Powell, the charity’s chief executive, said Guiness World Records presented them with a certificate confirming they had smashed the existing record.

The exact number of participants is still to be confirmed.
