Pupils at Sheffield school 'safe' after shooting just yards away

Staff at a Sheffield school close to a shooting have reassured parents that all pupils and staff are safe.

A spokeswoman at Woodthorpe Community Primary School said there was no threat to the school following the incident on Chadwick Road, Woodthorpe, at around 11am just yards away.

Police said a 30-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after he was shot in the leg.

A spokeswoman at the school said everyone at the school was safe.
