Public’s last chance to have say on library review

Have your say

Time is running out for people to have their say on Sheffield Council’s controversial library review.

City bosses are reminding residents they have until January 10 to take part in the official public consultation on proposals to withdraw funding for 15 facilities.

If members of the community or local groups do not come forward to volunteer to run the spaces themselves, libraries will close.

Coun Mazher Iqbal, Sheffield Council cabinet member for communities, said: “We really do still need to hear from everyone on what they want from the library service and to officially deal with comments ahead of any final decision being made.”

People can complete an online questionnaire on the council’s website or at their local library.
