A PUBLIC inquiry is being held over controversial plans to develop flats on the site of a detached house.

The hearing, organised by the Government’s Planning Inspectorate, will take place from 10am on November 28, in Sheffield Council offices at 53 Mowbray Street, Neepsend.

The inquiry will consider an appeal by Metropolitan Homes against Sheffield Council’s refusal of planning permission for the development of up to 14 flats at 135 Dore Road.

Around 250 objections have been made by neighbouring residents plus Sheffield Council, Dore Village Society, councillors and other groups.
