Public asked to check gardens and outhouses in 'urgent' hunt for missing Chesterfield woman

Members of the public are being asked to check their gardens and outhouses as an 'urgent' hunt to find a missing Chesterfield woman enters its second day.

Shirley Hutton, aged 49, left her home in Brimington during yesterday afternoon and has not been seen since.

Extensive searches have been carried out overnight and this morning in the Brimington and Staveley areas but officers are asking residents to check their gardens and outhouses.

Mrs Hutton is 5ft 5ins tall, with short blonde hair and of slim build. She was wearing a grey sweater, blue skinny jeans and black knee-length boots.

She was also carrying a black handbag.

Officers are extremely concerned for her safety.

Anyone who sees her or knows where she is should contact the police on 101 or in an emergency 999.
