Pub sign survived

I was interested to see the photo of The Tramcar pub in the Star's Midweek Retro last Tuesday. Prior to its demolition in the 1960s this pub was at the corner of Attercliffe Common and Clay Street, Attercliffe, and in your photograph the original pub sign showing a Sheffield Corporation Tram can clearly be seen above the front door of the pub.

Star readers may be interested to know that this pub sign was saved when the pub was demolished and can today be seen in the tram shed at Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire, (where of course several Sheffield trams may be seen including Sheffield’s Last Tram).
