A ONE of a kind painting from a renowned Sheffield artist fetched thousands of pounds at a charity auction.

Joe Scarborough’s Infantryman, which depicts a soldier propping up the bar at The Punchbowl, Crookes, Sheffield was sold for more than £2,000 at the pub’s Help for Heores night.

The 74-year-old artist, an occasional visitor to the watering hole, donated the piece to Punchbowl managers Julie and David Woodward.

Live entertainment drew big crowds to the event and a raffle helped to bring the fundraising total to £3,625.
