BUXTON Mountain Rescue Team has been presented with £500 raised at a pub.

The Rose and Crown at Allgreave, on the A54 between Buxton and Congleton, raised the cash after licensees Ken and Karen took over the business in 2010 and adopted the rescue team as one of the pub’s local charities.

Their have organised a murder mystery Night, a New Year’s Eve party and a teddy bear raffle.

Roger Bennett, rescue team chairman, said: “A lot of hard work has gone into raising this cash. It’s great to know our work is appreciated so much that people are willing to make such efforts on our behalf. Without help like theirs voluntary rescue teams simply would not exist.”
