Pub praised for its ale

THE Joseph Bramah pub in Barnsley town centre has been acclaimed for the quality of its ale by members of the town's Campaign for Real Ale branch.

The pub, at the bottom of Market Hill, is listed in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide 2008, which is published today.

Local branch members chose the pub after regular visits to check on the quality of the real ales on offer.

A CAMRA spokesman said: “The Joseph Bramah deserves its place in the guide. It is our belief that if a licensee keeps his beers well and pours perfect pints, then everything else in the pub, including the welcome, food and other drinks, will be of a high standard.”

Pub manager Simon Woods said: “Our customers love the range of real ales and the staff work hard to ensure that they are kept and served in first-class condition at all times.

“I am delighted that the pub has been recognised for the quality of its beers.”
