Pub developer must pay more

Have your say

PLANS to convert a historic pub into eight flats are set to be refused unless the developer agrees to offer more money for improvements to the surrounding area.

North East Derbyshire Council will decide on the plans to change the Grade II listed former Angel Hotel, on Market Street, Eckington, at a meeting on May 8.

Officials say the plans are acceptable but should not be approved unless the developer needs to pay £1,000 per flat for public improvements instead of the £500 which is being offered.
