A Sheffield pub company has spread its wings and taken over a brewery.

Reet Ale Pubs, which operaes The Rutland Arms in the city centre, The Closed Shop in Commonside and The Three Tuns in the city centre, has completed the takeover of the Blue Bee Brewery.

The company said the two firms had been ‘historically linked’, but Reet Ale now wanted to ‘build on the history and move forward with a new range of special and exciting beers’.

Andrew Stephens remains as a director and will take over day-to-day management alongside a team led by Josh Jepson and Joe Berry.

New casks and equipment have been ordered and a new brewery assistant is being recruited.

Blue Bee ales include Nectar Ale, Bees Knees Bitter and Lustin’ for Stout.
