PUB GOERS held an evening of fun and entertainment, raising £800 for the Weston Park Cancer Hospital charity.

The event took place at The Wharncliffe pub, Firth Park.

There was a disco, raffle and auction with prizes including a signed Owls football shirt and match tickets, a night at The Staindrop hotel and signed boxing gloves, plus goodies from shops.

Hillsborough boxing trainer Glyn Rhodes was a guest.

Organiser Lisa Jackson said the night was ‘fantastic’.

She and other helpers are collecting donations over the next fortnight to bring the total raised above £1,000.
