£3.5m work on Parkway

WORK to resurface the Parkway in Sheffield will mean a short section of the road will be closed on Sunday for around four weeks.

The eastbound slip road leading off the Parkway to Handsworth Road will be closed to allow repairs to be carried out. Motorists will have to take alternative routes.

The 3.5 million scheme will remove bumps on the Parkway between the Handsworth B6200 and the Prince of Wales Road junctions.

Blast furnace slag laid as the base to the road 30 years ago later expanded when moist, causing distortions.
