£1,200 raised at carnival

More than 6,000 people attended the annual Aston Carnival which is being hailed as the best ever.

Proceeds will go to the Bluebell Wood ChIldren’s Hospice, which is being built in Dinnington, and SAFE@Last, the Dinnington-based charity which cares for homeless young people.

Bill Mawson, chairman of the carnival’s organising committee, said: “It was a terrific success and I would like to thank everyone who took part, particularly the committee who worked tirelessly to ensure it was the biggest and best event we have ever had.”
