A NEWLY-elected councillor is using his first Town Hall speech to protest against the closure of a dementia care centre in his Sheffield ward.
Coun Rob Frost, who represents Crookes for the Liberal Democrats, is to speak at tomorrow’s full council meeting, criticising plans to axe Bole Hill View centre. It is one of three which are set to be shut, along with Hurfield View in Arbourthorne and Norbury in Burngreave. Coun Frost said: “Bole Hill View is a vital part of our community and the service it offers deserves to be saved. I’ve spoken to dozens of people who are extremely distressed.”
Ruling Labour councillors have not yet announced when the centres will be closed.
