'Prolific burglar' who targeted Doncaster pub bandit machines jailed

A 'prolific burglar' who targeted pub bandit machines in Doncaster has been jailed for three-and-a-half years.

David Stoakes targeted bandit machines at the Goose pub in Hall Gate and The John Bull Inn at Thorne in October and November last year.

Officers investigating identified that the same method had been used to force entry into the premises and they also found forensic evidence at the scene that led to Stoakes' arrest.

After the hearing, PC Joshua Heath, who led the investigation, said: “Stoakes is a prolific burglar who continued to commit crimes which effected local businesses, causing disruption and extensive damage.

"However, Stoakes has now been brought to justice and rightly punished for his actions.”
