Hidden secrets of a Peak District village are to be revealed in a project given £30,000 of National Lottery funding.
The money has been awarded to Stoney Middleton Heritage Centre Community Group. The project will capture the essence of the village, its people, ways of life and highlight it through a village book, The Forgotten Village.
Promotion of the village trails will highlight the points of interest, buildings and locations, by means of a mobile phone app, DVD, maps and a website.
It will capture the memories of the village elders, digitise photos and documents and make it all available on a website with free access to everyone.
Colin Hall, project leader, said: “This is fantastic news. The grant will now enable the village to tell its story.”
