Probe into fire at Rotherham nursing home

Residents in a Rotherham nursing home for young people with mental and physical disabilities were evacuated overnight after a fire broke out.

Fitzwilliam Lodge staff managed to get all the occupants of the home out before firefighters arrived at the scene at around midnight.

The fire in the home on Westfield Road, Parkgate, broke out in a storage area under a set of stairs.

An investigation into the cause is underway.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

Firefighters spent 90 minutes at the home.
