Primary school 'on lockdown' and parents told to collect pupils following police incident

A South Yorkshire primary school has reportedly been put on lockdown this morning and parents told to collect pupils following a police incident.

Parents of children at Plover Primary School in Intake, Doncaster, are understood to have received text messages telling them to collect children following ‘a serious incident.’

There are unconfirmed reports of an abduction attempt near to the school in Coniston Road this morning, which the Free Press is currently trying to verify.

One woman, who asked not to be named, said that a family member had received a text from school saying ‘serious incident near Plover Primary.

She added: “It said all kids need to be picked up or dropped off for safety.”

We have contacted the school and also Doncaster Council for further information.

We have also contacted South Yorkshire Police for further details about the alleged incident which is said to have taken place near the school this morning.
