A win would see him set a new record as the only man to consecutively retain Britain;s Strongest Man title six times.

But he may also go out in style and write himself into the history books with a world record - another attempt at the 230kg log lift, which he narrowly mussed out on at the recent Europe's Strongest Man event in Leeds.

Hall has already confirmed he will not be competing again in the World's Strongest Man competition, for health reasons and to see more of his family.

The WSM finals take place in the Philippines at the end of the month, for its traditional Christmas and New Year Channel 5 TV slot. Hall revealed he will be going, but only s a TV pundit.

In 2018, Giants Live packed in over 7,000 fans at the Fly DSA Arena but even more are expected next yer.

The best of Britain take on five Herculean tests of strength, including the giant Log lift and the famous Atlas Stones.

Rivals of The Beast include Laurence ‘Big Loz’ Shahlaei, winner of Europe's Strongest Man in 2016, the back to full strength Lancashire miracle man Mark Felix, back at 52 years old, and former BS. Champion: Terry Hollands.

Giants Live presenter Colin Bryce, who organises the competitions with business partner Darren Sadler, said: "History books could be re-written once again by Eddie, as the Stoke Man aims to regain his fitness in time to win an astonishing six titles in a row and retire in style..

"All the biggest strength stars will be there to hoist stones, throw kegs, carry cars and lift heavy metal to be crowned Britain’s Strongest Man."
