Sheffield's world famous Gatecrasher clubbing brand has announced a huge homecoming event to celebrate its 25th birthday at Sheffield FlyDSA Arena on Saturday, October 20.

Gatecrasher Classical, marking a quarter of a century of dance events that defined a generation, will feature a 50 piece orchestra and a 30 piece choir performing some of the biggest dance tracks as fans have never heard them before.

It will kick start the silver anniversary of the Gatecrasher brand - later "Crasher" - which first held its dance events at the Gatecrasher One nightclub in Sheffield, during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Full show details have yet to be announced but Gatecrasher are planning to make the new classical show, which have already become some of the most revered experiences in Gatecrasher history, even bigger whilst retaining the feel and atmosphere of the previous sell out events.

It gained early fans in the days of the Republic nightclub nd over 25 years has organised countless experiences which have become emblazoned in the hearts and souls of clubbers worldwide.

Highlights have included the Millennium Don Valley NYE event, the NEC arena shows, Tiesto at Nottingham ICE Arena, the 14th birthday Magna and Gatecrasher's 20th birthday event at Donnington park.

The ambitious 25th birthday event, back home in Sheffield at the FlyDSA Arena, will see Gatecrasher breaking with tradition; hosting a brand new Classical event featuring some of the biggest dance tracks.

Bosses say it will create new history; delivering a 'bigger, better, bass boosted' Gatecrasher arena show unlike anything before.

The scale of the venue will see it push the boundaries in terms of production.

Gatecrasher are promising to pulling out all the stops for an un-missable unique celebration of dance music culture. Full show details have yet to be announced but Gatecrasher say it will retain the feel and atmosphere of previous sell out events.

"Gatecrasher is all about pushing boundaries and the plans afoot will see us create an un-missable experience to celebrate our 25 year history for both our loyal faithful fans and new followers alike.

"The stage show will be bigger and feature all the whistles and bells we have become synonymous with over the years."

FlyDSA Arena is the region’s largest indoor premier entertainment venue with a multi-purpose auditorium accommodating audiences from 3,000 to over 13,600.

Since 1991, the venue has hosted more than 3,000 local, regional, national and international events, from major concerts to comedy, sport to theatre, family shows to exhibitions and conferences.
