A pregnant woman was sexually assaulted on a train, police officers have revealed today.
She was travelling on a Manchester to Cleethorpes train, which passed through Sheffield and Meadowhall, at the time of the attack.
British Transport Police said the woman was walking through the first class carriage to reach the toilets when she was assaulted on Saturday, August 27 at around 6.30pm.
PC Karen Taylor-Malkin said: “The victim was walking through the first class carriage to the toilet when she was touched inappropriately as she passed a male passenger.
“This is entirely unacceptable behaviour and will not be tolerated.”
A CCTV image has been released of a man police believe could hold vital information about the incident.
PC Taylor-Malkin added: "I believe the man in the image has information about this incident. Who is he?”
