A FESTIVAL Evensong celebrating the 350th anniversary of the Book of Common Prayer, sung by a choir from churches across the Diocese of Sheffield, will be performed at Doncaster Minster tomorrow at 4pm.

The Bishop of Doncaster Peter Burrows will also preach at the service.

The choir will be conducted by Robert Webb, education and training officer at the Royal School of Church Music.

The Bishop of Sheffield’s adviser in music and worship, Rev Helen Bent, said: “Everyone is welcome to join us in celebrating this important anniversary, as we give thanks for the prayer book which has nourished generations of faithful Anglican Christians and made a significant impact on the shaping of the English language.”
