Postcards about Sheffield post office's past

Former employees at Sheffield's head post office in Fitzalan Square are being asked to send a postcard to the building where they once worked.

Organisers want employees of the Edwardian-era building, now Sheffield Hallam University’s new Institute of the Arts, to share their memories for the Post Office Faces project, taking place later this year as part of the Year of Making festival.

People who worked behind the counter, in the telegram and telephone exchanges, sorting offices and management, are encouraged to send a postcard with their name, contact details and a memory of working at the building.

Send postcards to Post Office Faces, Sheffield Institute of Arts, Pond Street, Sheffield, S1 2AY.
