Post mortem to be carried out on man's body found in flood hit Doncaster road

A post mortem examination is being carried out on the body of a man found in an area of Doncaster badly hit by flooding.

The man, who has not been named, was found on Saturday afternoon by a member of the public in Fordstead Lane, Barnby Dun.

Police recovered the body which may have been in floodwaters for up to two weeks.

The road was heavily flooded after the River Don broke its banks more than a fortnight ago.

The country lane connecting Barnby Dun with Arksey is still closed.

Police were unable to say how long the body had been at the spot.

Officers said they did not consider the death to be suspicious.
