NEW routes are about to be launched to connect with the Trans Pennine Trail bridleway in South Yorkshire.
The developments connect Penistone with areas to the north and west.
There is an on-road option from Kirkburton through Stocksmoor, Shepley, Haddingley and Royd Moor to join the trail at Millhouse Green, which will be available for walkers and cyclists.
An off-road route will be slightly longer and travel from Kirkburton, Shelley, Shepley, Cumberworth Common, Denby Dale, Upper Denby, Ingbirchworth, Royd Moor to join the trail at Thurlstone. This route will be available for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
Mandy Loach, trail officer, said: “This is a great chance to build on the fantastic network we already have.”
