A SHEFFIELD football book which was so popular it sold out is to be updated and reprinted in the summer.

The book – A Complete Record of Sheffield United 1889-1999 – has been out of print for several years and has become so sought-after that second hand copies now change hands for around £60 – almost three times the £22.50 the book cost new in 1999.

One dealer, Baggins Book Bazaar of Rochester, Kent, is currently offering a copy of the book for £83.50.

Now Derby-based DB Publishing plans to reissue the hardback book at £25 in August, in time for the start of the 2012-2013 season.

The 500 page book, by club historian Denis Clarebrough and Andrew Kirkham, contains season-by-season statistics of all first team fixtures, with line-ups, half-time scores, results, scorers, attendances and league tables, as well as an A to Z of Blades players and managers.
