Our first Q&A will be held Monday, October 5 and broadcast live on Facebook.

We will be asking him questions put forward by our readers on issues which really matter to our local communities.

Mr Coppard was elected as the county’s Mayor in 2022.

Four years on, is he tackling the issues which affect your life?

If not, this is your opportunity to raise those with him.

Mr Coppard was born and raised in South Yorkshire and says that growing up he witnessed first-hand how decisions taken far away changed our lives. Industries were shut down and buses were privatised.

He’s bringing buses back under public control.

But what else would you like him to do in his role?

What would really make a difference to your life and your community?

The Mayor was elected to represent 1.4 million residents in the region and to promote South Yorkshire as a place to live, work, visit and invest.

Do you feel that your voice has been heard?

South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority has powers and funding which are used to help create jobs, grow the economy, up-skill the workforce, support the public transport network and develop new infrastructure and homes in South Yorkshire.

Why not use this chance to ask the Mayor about that?

Following the Mayoral election in May 2024, the Mayor took on the functions of the Police and Crime Commissioner. These functions include listening to the needs of communities, securing victim support services, setting the objectives for the police force, and holding the Chief Constable to account.

Are you satisfied that enough is being done?

This is your chance to put questions to someone in a position to really make a difference - please get involved.

We want to hear from you.
