Fiona Milne, of the Friends of Birley Spa, said: “This is an important step forward for us as a group and an acknowledgement that we are not going away.

“The Lodge is a wonderful resource for young people with special needs. Friends of Birley Spa are here to improve the wellbeing of our community through restoration of the bath house and grounds. Together our groups can make a real difference, we anticipate this will be the first collaboration of many.

“People can come along, have a great time and support good local causes.”

It was organised with Lord Mayor Gail Smith, who chose the Friends of Hi5’s as one of her three charities to support during her time in the role.

It will take place on Saturday, July 17 from 10.30am to 4pm at The Lodge, Church Lane, Hackenthorpe (S12 4AN). There will be car parking in the field at a cost of £1.
