The Conservatives and the Brexit Party are fielding a number of candidates across Sheffield who aren’t local.

The furthest is Brexit Party candidate Johnny Johnson who lives 157 miles away in Harrow. He’s hoping to be elected in Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough.

Another Brexit Party candidate, Tracy Knowles, lives 131 miles away in Norfolk and is standing in Sheffield Heeley.

And Conservative candidate Marc Bayliss is from Worcester, 121 miles away, and campaigning in Sheffield South East.

Also standing in Sheffield South East is Brexit Party’s Kirk Kus from Derby.

Sheffield Central has Conservative Janice Silvester-Hall from Lichfield and Paul Ward coming from Leeds for the Brexit Party.

Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough has Conservative Hannah Westropp from Grantham.

Candidates must give either their home address or their home constituency when they are nominated but there is no law than an MP must live in their constituency - or even in the UK.

In Tynemouth Brexit Party candidate Ed Punchard is standing despite being registered as living 9,000 miles away in Fremantle, near Perth, Australia.

The Conservatives and Brexit Party have been approached for comments.
