Josephine’s nightclub, in the Fountain Precinct in the city centre, was known as the 'place for pick-up lines, posing and partying' since it opened in 1976.

It closed in 2003 and became Banus nightclub but the venue has been vacant in recent years.

Now Kames Capital want to bring the building back into use as offices and a gym.

In a planning application to Sheffield Council on behalf of Kames Capital, Matthew Pruce, senior planner for DLP Planning, said: "The proposed development forms part of the applicant’s wider reinvestment in the Fountain Precinct which seeks to enhance the facilities and offer of the premises.

"The proposed works demonstrates the applicant’s confidence in the Sheffield office market and will help to attract new businesses into the city centre.

"This application represents the opportunity to support the vibrancy and longevity of this part of the city centre.”
