Stocksbridge Regeneration Company has submitted plans to erect a couple of three-storey blocks with 33 apartments at the rear of Fox Valley in Stockbridge, on a vacant piece of land next to Card Factory.

Dransfield Properties has teamed up with Coda Architect for the project and says it's an "opportunity to create a more diverse mix of uses and activities" within Fox Valley by delivering homes on the site.

"The scale of the neighbouring commercial units have been taken into consideration with the modern industrial style of design.

"Ground floor units will have their own private terrace while upper floor units will have balconies enjoying a fantastic view over the railway and to the hills beyond.

"An internal private residents' courtyard between both buildings will add greenery to the development.

"With a shopping centre literally on your doorstep and excellent access to motorways, this is an ideal spot for young professionals and first time buyers."

Fox Valley is a £50m retail development which transformed a former steelworks site and Liberty Steel still neighbours it. Joanna Lumley officially opened it in June 2016.
