MPs have earned almost £10m since the start of 2020 through second jobs and paid work outside of parliament, a NationalWorld investigation can reveal.
All of the highest earners are Conservative MPs, apart from Dan Jarvis the Labour MP for Barnsley Central who has a dual-role as mayor of South Yorkshire and Lib Dem leader Ed Davey who is a paid consultant to an international law firm.

5. Andrew Mitchell
Conservative MP for Sutton Coldfield Andrew Mitchell registered £363,971 through a number of consultancy roles with businesses all over the world. Mitchell earns £50,000 with the venture capital and private equity firm Kingsley Capital Partners, for 16 hours a month, alongside six other roles as a consultant or advisor.

6. Sajid Javid
Health Secretary and Conservative MP for Bromsgrove Sajid Javid registered £295,552 through a series of lucrative roles he took on during his time out of cabinet.

7. Richard Fuller
Conservative MP for North East Bedfordshire Richard Fuller earned £213,119 through his role as chairman of brand protection firm OpSec Security and one-off payments for business planning advice to investment firm Investcorp

8. Owen Paterson
Former MP for North Shropshire Owen Paterson, who resigned recently after the parliamentary watchdog found that he broke lobbying rules on numerous occasions, earned £189,668. The bulk of this came from his role as a consultant with Randox, a firm which has won two Covid contracts, and another role with Lynn’s Country Foods.
