Here's when we can expect the General Election results in Sheffield and South Yorkshire

You’ll probably want to know when the General Election results are being announced whether you’re planning to pull an all-nighter on December 12 or not.

After polling stations close across the country at 10pm, the votes are counted in two stages.

The ‘count’ typically ends around 2am, with the winning candidate announced shortly after in the early hours of the morning.

While the estimates can be (and often are) wrong due to technicalities and the dreaded recount, each election provides an expected announcement time.
