Health bosses praise success of Covid-19 vaccine scheme in Rotherham

During a meeting on March 10, Ben Anderson, the borough’s director of public health said that case rates amongst the over 65s had dropped since the vaccine rollout, in comparison to higher number of infections amongst the working age population, and that “we expect that fall to keep going”.
Sharon Kemp:, chief executive of the council added that there has been an overall reduction in case rates, which stand at 145 per 100,000 population as of Wednesday, March 10.

Hide Ad“We would like to see that come down further, we he seen some reductions then it tends to plateau.
“We are still probably one of the higher areas in the country,” she added.
Ms Kemp also revealed the success of the council’s self-isolation payment scheme, with 76 cases proved out of 78 applications.
Councillor David Roach, chair of the board, added that the board was “very pleased” with Rotherham’s vaccination rate of 95 per cent of the top four priority groups now vaccinated.
