Often it is schools, libraries, and community centres housing the awaited booths and ballot boxes - but some voters get luckier than others.

Polls are open at locations across the country today (July 4) until 10pm.

In Sheffield, this includes a few sporting venues, including one which has swapped its punching bags for polling booths.

Your polling card will tell you where you have to go if you are voting in person - unfortunately, not everyone can do it at a pub or luxury hotel.
