Future Rotherham housing sites to be revealed
Sites which could become new residential and industrial developments in Rotherham are set to be revealed to residents.
Consultation starts next week on the proposed sites that Rotherham Council says ‘will form the borough’s planning blueprint for the next 15 years.’
The public will be asked for their views on the latest version of the sites and policies document.
It will be available to view on the council’s website, as well as in libraries and customer service centres.
There will also be four public drop-in sessions.
About 14,000 new homes are expected to be built.
Andy Duncan, council planning policy manager, said: “Anyone interested in the future development of the borough should take a look at this.
“We need to provide sufficient, good quality homes and affordable housing as well as providing employment land.”
Drop-in sessions take place at Rawmarsh High Street Centre on Monday, November 3, Dinnington Resource Centre on Thursday, November 6, Wickersley Community Centre on Thursday, November 13 and the My Place centre in Eastwood the following day.
