5. New MOT garage
Plans were submitted for a new vehicle repair garage with an MOT testing facility at Arthurs Skips, Weirhead Works, on Hobson Avenue, Neepsend. It is in an existing vacant building and it would be a change of use with no structural or aesthetic changes. https://planningapps.sheffield.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=R6ZU1QNYFNY00 Photo: Google Maps
6. Apartment hotels
Two separate planning applications were put to the council for additional ‘aparthotel’ units, also known as apartment hotels at 52-54 Garden Street, in the city centre. The site includes two Grade II listed ranges which were formerly metal trades workshops and previously identified as ‘at risk’ by the council. The plans would involve the conversion of ground floor commercial space and alterations to the roof, including repositioning the window. The full plans for both can be found using the council’s planning portal and searching: 21/04599/FUL and 21/04600/LBC Photo: Google Maps
