Mr Jarvis said: “As the easing of lockdown continues with gyms, beauticians and outdoor theatres set to reopen in the coming days and weeks, I want to remind people in South Yorkshire the threat of the coronavirus has not gone away.

“We must all remain vigilant. As more people return to work, shops and public spaces, following the guidance on social distancing is more - not less - important.

“People must wear face coverings on public transport, in indoor spaces and anywhere you cannot maintain distance from others.

“Everybody should also continue to regularly wash their hands and would urge anyone who is displaying symptoms of coronavirus to immediately self-isolate and get a test.
