The existing mini roundabout at the junction of Potter Hill, Main Street and Coach Road, would be replaced with "a signalised priority junction including right turning lanes, left filter lanes and staged pedestrian crossings" if plans are approved.

The plans are estimated to cost around £2.4 million, and will be fully funded by Sheffield City Region.

The appraisal panel summary states: "The proposal will address delays due to the limited road space, consequent queuing and uncertainties for drivers in the existing layout

"It utilises land currently in RMBC’s ownership and formerly the site of a community centre (recently demolished) to provide a second entrylanes on each arm of the junction and staged crossing facilities for cyclists and pedestrians."

An appraisal as part of the inital plans for the scheme states that it will provide"substantial benefits " to drivers in the area, by reducing queueing and cutting down on journey times.

Cyclists will also benefit from the plans, though "greater certainty afforded by signalisation and the staged crossings to be marked out across two arms of the junction".
