It has now been resubmitted for 10 apartments but the plans have again prompted 36 complaints, including Bradfield Parish Council.

One resident on Langsett Road South who is against the plan said: "There isn't the infrastructure to support this development, in particular in terms of parking. It is out of keeping with the local area.

"It has a very detrimental effect on existing properties in terms of compromising privacy, and available light.

"The area already experiences heavy traffic as the main route north and this would only increase congestion."

Cero Architecture said the site is located on a good vacant plot within a well established area, not affecting greenbelt.

It added that it was designed not to have a detrimental effect on neighbouring houses.
