Residents have their say on new Barnsley masterplan
and live on Freeview channel 276
The ambitious scheme outlines what the area could look like in the future. It includes plans for around 100 new homes and 49.3 hectares of land for employment use, as well as the relocation of Rockingham Sports facility to land at Parkside.
The scheme will now go out to public consultation after being approved by the borough council’s cabinet at its meeting on Wednesday, April 29.

Hide AdThe consultation will run for six weeks and take place from May 7 to June 18.
Documents relating to the plans will be available to view on the council's website from May 7, at www.barnsley.gov.uk/hoylandwest
Feedback from the public will be reviewed and fed into the final masterplan framework, which will need to be approved by Full Council before adoption.
Councillor Tim Cheetham, cabinet spokesperson for regeneration and culture, said: "The Hoyland West masterplan proposal covers major plans around employment, housing and relocation of the Rockingham sports facility, so it’s important we consider the impact of the potential development.
