Public consultation into development of a new secondary school in Barnsley

A public consultation is underway for members of the public to give their views on the development of a new secondary school off Broadway.

Trinity Multi-Academy Trust was selected in 2019 by the Department for Education as the sponsor for a proposed new free school, to be known as Trinity Academy Barnsley.

The proposed site for the school is on Keresforth Close off Broadway in Barnsley. Under the proposals, the school will open with 180 places available for Year 7 students in September 2021.

A consultation period has now opened, so the local community can give their views on the development of the new school.

Webinar events will also be taking place on June 26 and July 10 for anyone interested to find out more about the proposals and share their opinions.

The consultation will run until August 10 and the findings will be published online.
