Permission granted for Sheffield car showroom to be converted into offices

Sheffield Council’s planning and highways committee approved plans to create new offices at the site of a former car showroom in the city.

The development includes the use of both levels and there will be work to fully internalise the partly open space on the ground floor.

In total, 797 sqm of office space will be provided and the work will utilize the car parking at the ex-workshop’s bottom level.

Ahead of the meeting, officers said in a report: “Overall, the scheme is considered to meet the requirements of the relevant local and national planning policies.”

There were seven representations made across two rounds of consultation, from three addresses.

This included councillors Alison Teal and Barbara Masters and the Banner Cross Neighbourhood Group.

Two objectors attended the meeting to raise their concerns which included parking, traffic and road safety.
