The Trading House is moving into Charter Row as part of the Heart of the City 2 development and is asking Sheffield Council if it can stay open later than originally agreed.

It wants to open until 1am Sunday to Tuesday and until 2am Wednesday to Saturday.

Owners New World Trading Company says: "Our client offers a unique venue bespoke to Sheffield, to be known as The Trading House.

"Similar venues operating under the same brand include the Trading House, London; the Club House, Liverpool; and the Canal House, Birmingham.

"The Trading House will be our second establishment in Sheffield in addition to the existing Botanist on Leopold Square."

Planning officers limited the opening hours so neighbouring residents wouldn't be disturbed but New World Trading Company says there are other pubs nearby which open late.

"Longer operating hours exist for venues near The Trading House including The Botanist, Brewdog, Forum Bar and Kitchen, West One, The Benjamin Huntsman, and Bungalows and Bears.

"Planning permission is sought for a modest extension to the hours of use. Those extended operating hours have not resulted in a significant adverse impact on the amenity of the area.

"The closest residential properties are above the NCP Wellington Street multi-storey car park, Vita Student Sheffield.

"Normal noise levels in city centre locations include taxis and members of the public going home or using Charter Row/Furnival Gate as a thoroughfare to public transport. In this context, the extended opening hours are considered negligible.

"Our emphasis is on providing a high-quality meeting place where customers can eat, drink and enjoy the location and surroundings with gentle accompanying live music.

"We employ good neighbour policies where customers are requested to leave the premises quietly in consideration of any neighbours, as well as careful on site management to minimise disruption."

Planning officers are considering the application, which can be viewed here.
